Did you know that every October, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation sponsors the official national tribute to all firefighters who died in the line of duty during the previous year? In October we want to join in and honor these heroes with our third annual Firefighters 5K and 10K virtual race. We will be donating 15% of every registration to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, whose mission is to honor these fallen heroes, assist their survivors, and work to reduce fire deaths and injuries. Plus, you get an awesome medal!
For our second annual Make A Difference 5K and 10K, we want to honor Mother Teresa. The medal has a quote from her that says, “Do Small Things With Great Love.”
October 27th is National Make A Difference Day. So you have the entire month of October to complete your Make A Difference Day 5K & 10K: Remembering Mother Teresa, and we encourage you to go out and do a random act of kindness too!
We will be donating at least 15% of each registration to the Make a Wish Foundation, who wishes to make life better for kids with life-threatening medical conditions.
Did you know that October 9th is PANDAS Awareness Day? It’s not awareness for the cute, cuddly Panda bears, but for PANDAS, Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections. It occurs when strep triggers a misdirected immune response results in inflammation on a child’s brain.
To help raise awareness, we are hosting our second annual PANDAS Day 5K. We only have 500 medals available, so once they’re gone, they’re gone! Order NOW!
We will also be donating at least 15% of every registration to PANDAS NETWORK, an incredible organization which is dedicated to improving the diagnosis and treatment of children with PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections) and PANS (Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome).

Day of the dead is October 31st. It is a Mexican holiday in which families remember and honor their deceased loved ones. To celebrate we are hosting our first annual Day of the Dead 5K & 10K! We will be donating at least 15% of every registration to Soles4Souls, an amazing organization that creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world.
Join us on our fourth annual Breast Cancer Awareness themed virtual race: SUPPORT OUR GIRLS: Hope for the Hooters 5K and 10K! We honor all women out there that are courageously battling this disease. We will also be donating at least 15% of every registration to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, an amazing organization that is dedicated to to prevent and cure breast cancer by advancing the world’s most promising research.
WE LOVE TACOS! Did you know that October 4th is National Taco Day. To celebrate we are hosting our first annual Taco Trot 5K & 10K! We will be donating at least 15% of every registration to Soles4Souls, an amazing organization that creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world.
Did you know that World Teacher’s Day is celebrated on October 5th?! We are big fans of all of the amazing teachers out there and wanted to join in and celebrate them and all that they do. Join us for our first annual World Teacher Day 5K! They really are the true heroes out there!
We will also be donating at least 15% of each registration to DonorsChoose.org, an organization that makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need, moving us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education.
Cakes from Grace, Inc. is putting on this event as a fundraiser for their non-profit organization. Proceeds will benefit this great organization that reaches out to families dealing with congenital heart defects (CHDs).
The 5K race begins at 9:45 am.
The Kids Fun Run (500 meters) begins at 9:30 am.
Along with the 5K race and Kids Fun Run, there will be a silent auction taking place before, during and after the race with tons of great items up for bid. All proceeds will benefit Cakes from Grace.
Pre-register by September 28th for $35, late registration (September 29th +) is $40. Registration open day-of as well.

If you can’t make it to Bunker Hills on race day but still want to be a part of the event from wherever you are around the country or world, you can sign up for a discounted price. Your T-shirt and wristband will be shipped to you (we can’t ship cupcakes though!).
*Note: BIB numbers will NOT be issued for the Virtual 5K, so if you will be at the race in person, sign up for the normal 5K registration.
